Founded by Andreas Kalavazides in 1970, the company began with a small assembly line in the center of Limassol, focusing on interior blinds. Andreas Kalavazides Ltd has been combining traditional experience and cutting edge technology since its creation. In 1975, Andreas Kalavazides following his company’s success decided to rename it to Gold Star and the assembly line moved into private premises.

Following in his father’s footsteps, Stelios Kalavazides, who had spent large amounts of time in father’s factory gowing up, returned from his studies in the U.K. and decided to re-establish the traditional name of the company, honouring its founder, Andreas. With even more determination and commitment to the principles which had bought success, Stelios established Kalavazides Blinds & Shutters as one of the largest suppliers on the island. Soon after, a large company expansion followed that turned the assembly line into a manufacturing unit, with the addition of rolling shutters production in 1983.

In 1992, due to the development of the housing industry in Cyprus which led to high demand, the company expanded its product line by adding garage doors. By 1996, the company had become the leading supplier of Venetian Blinds owing to its excellent quality products and outstanding after-sales service.

In 2004 the company's success was embodied in the new 2,000m² building which houses our showroom, offices, factory and warehouse and it is located in Agios Athanasios industrial area. The state-of-the-art facilities were built to provide our customers with the outmost convenience and all services needed. The building has the latest, high-standard equipment which delivers high-end finished products.

The leading dynamics of this family business, were enforced by the dedication and invaluable, innovative ideas of Anders Kalavazides who joined his father,Stelios, in 2011. Anders, who had also spent a large amount of time in the family business growing up, worked there during his summer holidays through the years too. Thus, he naturally shares his grandfather and father’s vision to take the Kalavazides' name into the future. Moreover, due to high demand in Nicosia, A.Kalavazides Ltd launched a brand new showroom in 2011 in Strovolos industrial area for its customers’ outmost convenience.

Adapting to the demands of our customers for new sun shading systems as well as the contemporary architectural designs of buildings, the company's showroom was renovated in 2013 to include all the latest products that meet every requirement. The display of the showroom is practical and well-organised, enabling our customers to get familiar with all the products A.Kalavazides Ltd provides.
